Montie Yeager
(August 28, 1940 - December 28, 2015)

Montie Yeager, 75, Jacksonville, FL died of heart failure December 28, 2015, at Gulf Coast Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL and joined God’s Heavenly Choir. Born August 28, 1940, to Charles Sr. and J. Blanche Yeager in Dixon, IL, he married Bonita Woodrow on January 1, 1961.

Montie graduated Dixon High School in 1958 and operated Yeager Shoe Repair from 1958 to 1963. A member of Chi Lambda fraternity, he graduated Stout State College in Menomonie, WI in 1966 with a degree in Industrial Education. Montie taught in Aurora and Dixon, IL before moving to FL where he was a buyer of materials for a Tampa construction company and taught in Plant City. After returning to Wisconsin Montie taught in the Jefferson and Watertown schools and adult education at Madison Area Technical College, Fort Atkinson. He served on the Jefferson City Council, President of Gemuetlichkeit Days from 1979-1983, and various church boards. Currently a member of Ponte Vedra Methodist Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Montie expressed his love for singing as a member of his church choir and “Singers By The Sea” in Jacksonville Beach. He loved his family, NASCAR, or any race, the Chicago Bears, and TV for entertainment as well as challenging his mind.

Montie is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Bonnie; sons Scott (Sandy) of Lake Mills, WI, Brett (Kristin) Jacksonville, NC, Bart (Andrea) Ft. Myers, FL; seven grandchildren:  Mandie (Alex) Garrison, Crossville, TN, Grace and Charlie, Lake Mills, WI, Hans and Hayden, Jacksonville, NC, and Tyler and Zachary, Ft. Myers, FL; two great grandchildren; sister Jonnie Duffy and sister-in- law Loretta Samuel, Dixon, IL; four nieces, one nephew, and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Jr.; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Mel Masters and Karen and Ray Middleton, two nephews, and one niece.

A private family service was held in Ft Myers, FL, with a memorial service to be announced at a later date and held in the summer at Milton United Methodist Church in Milton, WI. Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family.
