Mary was a member of the Class of 1958

Mary Jane Sigafus-Shank, 86, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She worked as a Nurse and Administrator for 42 years, retiring at Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon.

Mary was born on May 18, 1939, in Dixon, the daughter of Delbert "Speed" and Lucille (Busser) Saunders. She married Louis Sigafus on August 3, 1966. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1998. Mary was a dedicated and exceptional nurse, mom, and friend. She was a member of both the Dixon Lions Club and Young Mothers Club. Mary loved bowling, playing euchre, and shopping. To know her truly was to love her - she will be missed by all who had the privilege of having her in their lives.

Mary is survived by her children, Deborah (Kenneth) Gapinski of Dixon, Robert "Bob" (Anita) Mezo of Dixon, Linda (Norm) Tippey of Galesburg, IL; four grandchildren, Lynnette (Jordan) Leopold of Indio, CA, Jennifer (Chad) Conderman of Dixon, Chelsea (Austin) Hubbard of Dixon, Heather (Chris) Pierce of Omaha, NE; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, Aubrey, Sophie, Charlie, Grayson; and siblings, Sandy Wooden of Dixon, Delbert "Butch" (Estella) Saunders of San Antonio, TX.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Sigafus; and one grandson, Chad Mezo.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at Noon on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with Pastor Jack M. Briggs, officiating. Burial will be to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. There will be a Luncheon following services at Sugar Grove Church in Dixon.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
